Protect Texas Together Phone-Based Survey and Mobile Applications
Welcome to the University’s Protect Texas Together Phone-Based Survey Knowledge Base
The knowledge article provides information about using the university’s phone-based survey application to monitor and track COVID-19 symptoms. This article:
- Describes available ways for using the phone-based survey application.
- Provides instructions for using the free phone-based survey app to monitor and track your COVID-19 symptoms if you do not have access to a smart phone or computer.
- Provides additional contact information for assistance.
UT students, faculty, staff, and student employees can use this phone-based survey application to help make our university safe from the spread of COVID-19. This is an alternative to the smart phone application designed by the university and available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Refer to the Protect Texas Together website for information.
Instructions for Using the Phone-Based Survey
For users who do not have smartphones or computer access, a phone-based survey application is available for monitoring and tracking their COVID-19 symptoms each day.
After completing the phone survey, a message will state if the individual is cleared to come to campus or advised to stay at home. The phone-based survey does not store data or personal information.
All users will receive an email confirmation. Supervisors of employees, including student employees, will also receive the email confirmation.
Phone-Based Survey Application Instructions:
1. In order to use the phone-based survey application, each user will need to know their assigned unique access code and PIN of their choosing.
2. To lookup your unique access code, please go to https://utdirect.utexas.edu/apps/ptt/survey_info. If you need assistance finding out your unique access code, please call the UT Service Desk at 512-475-9400.
3. Next, call 800-325-8903 and follow the voice prompts, which are available in English, Spanish, and French.
How Do I Download Protect Texas Together for iPhone?
The Protect Texas Together application is now currently available in the Apple App Store freely downloadable and installable for iPhone users.
The instructions below will guide you through the setup.
1. Navigate to the App Store on your iPhone
2. Type "Protect Texas Together" in the search field, then select "Get".
3. Select "Install" to download the application on your iPhone.
4. Select "Open" when the application has finished downloading.
5. Select "Sign in with UT EID".
6. Enter your UT EID and UT EID password.
7. You will be required to use MFA to proceed. Choose an authentication method

8. Congratulations, you have successfully logged in to Protect Texas Together!
How Do I Download Protect Texas Together for Android?
The Protect Texas Together application is now currently available in the Google Play Store and is freely downloadable and installable for Android users.
The instructions below will guide you through the setup.
1. On your Android device, navigate to the Google Play Store application.
2. Type "Protect Texas Together" in the search field, then select the app from the list.
3. Select "Install" to download the application on your Android device.
4. Select "Open" when the application has finished downloading.
5. Next, select "Sign in with UT EID".
6. Enter your UT EID and UT EID password.
7. You will be required to use MFA to proceed. Choose an authentication method
