Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) enables campus information technology administrators to deploy the latest Microsoft product updates to computers that are running the Windows operating system. By using WSUS, campus administrators can fully manage the distribution of updates that are released through Microsoft Update to computers owned and operated by The University.

Faculty, staff and students responsible for Windows systems management or for maintaining individual Windows systems can use the campus WSUS service. However, if using a departmental Windows computer, you should consult your local system administrator before configuring WSUS. To configure the computer to use WSUS or to install updates downloaded from the WSUS server, you must be able to log on locally as an administrator.
