Dedicated connections to the UT System Video Network are required for all videoconferences scheduled through ITS. There is a dedicated connection through the university Network Operations Center (NOC) to the UT System Video Network. Many videoconferencing facilities on the university campuses are connected to the NOC and thus to the UT System Video Network.

Remote ISDN connections

If an off-campus host or participant does not have a dedicated connection to the UT System Video Network, that host or participant must connect using one of the ISDN dial-up connections available for use at the university. ITS staff either "dials-out" to the host or participating site or the off-campus participant "dials-in" to the university's NOC.

ITS staff does not perform outbound (dial-out) international ISDN calls that require country codes. International ISDN calls must be dial-in calls (ITS can dial-out to Canada).

How much do network connections cost?

There are no connection charges or administrative fees for use of the statewide UT System Video Network serving UT System components, excluding ISDN services.

For outbound, dial-out ISDN connections, actual line charges plus a $50.00 administrative fee will be charged. Email video@its.utexas.edu for current charges. There are no line or administrative charges for any ISDN dial-in service.
