The EID System contains centralized identity information provided by the Source Systems and users. This information can be accessed for business purposes in a number of ways.

  • UTLogin is a centralized authentication service which supports web-based and stand-alone applications through standard authentication protocols.
  • It provides single sign-on capability for participating applications.
  • It provides support for common server platforms and third party applications.

uTexas Enterprise Directory (TED)

  • TED provides a consolidated, LDAPv3-based interface for use by university departments.

  • It can be used to retrieve identity and affiliation information, authenticate UT EID holders when logging into departmental systems, and allow departmental systems to control access to resources based on information stored within TED.
