Reporting Unwanted Email
Note: If you believe that your personal safety is threatened, call the UT Police at 512-471-4441.
Reporting spam and phishing schemes to the appropriate authorities may result in the offending account being terminated. When reporting spam and phishing schemes, make sure to include full headers from the offending email message.

If you can identify the Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the sender, look up the contact information for the ISP and report the violation to them.

If the message violates the university's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), contact the Information Security Office (ISO).

To ensure that our email security infrastructure is properly trained, we encourage you to submit reports of phishing messages via one of the following methods:
- If you are using the Outlook desktop or web application, please use the Report or Report Message button.
- If you are using another email application, please forward the message as an attachment to postmaster-abuse@utexas.edu.
