- From the Start menu, select Control Panel, then System and Security, then Windows Update.
- In the left-hand menu choose Change settings
- Under the Important Updates section choose 'Install updates automatically (recommended)'
- Optionally check the boxes under the Recommended updates and Microsoft Update sections
